It probably hasn’t escaped peoples attention that there hasn’t been a great deal of sailing so far this year. I’ve had a few people ask me if everything is ok. I can assure people that everything here on the boat is good. However my sailing plans have been put on hold for a little while.
I was all ready to set off towards Scotland earlier this year. At the last minute an opportunity came up. This is allowing me to complete a number of upgrades on the boat. I’m helping out behind the sailing club bar part time. This goes some way to covering my mooring fees here, and I’ve been able to work on boat jobs in between.
Upgrading my home
Since I’ve been aboard the boat and traveling round I’ve been working on a list of changes and improvements I want to make to my tiny home. Some are small changes and tweak’s to what I’ve already done. Some of the changes are larger and a daunting level of work for an unskilled DIYer. The galley (or kitchen) is getting a large part of the work this year, finally getting rid of the gas is a big plus. But as with anything like this, one job tends to lead to two or three more. I’ll tell you more about what I’m doing in an upcoming blog.
Unfortunately the seemingly endless abysmal weather isn’t helping. Some of the work involved needs to be at least in part done outside, either because of space, avoiding dust or paint fumes in a tiny area. This has however given me the opportunity to update and upgrade this website. You can now register with this website. Hopefully this will allow me to send out notification of updates, blogs and maybe even the odd video. I’m also slowly moving the contents of the old website over here, even if most of it is just a personal record of my life on the water.
Posts may continue to be a bit hit and miss as I’m working on the boat, but hey, that’s me!
